Taimana means diamond, and this design is a refined formation of our Waharua Kōpito pattern. Rooted in the kaupapa of self-determination, the two mouths combined with the niho (teeth) speak to the relationships we hold with others and with ourselves. The spaces where identity, voice, and connection are shaped.
The intricate line work and notched detailing represent tāngata, the people, empowered through unity. This visual language carries the enduring wisdom of Kīngi Tāwhiao:
“Ki te kotahi te kākaho ka whati, ki te kāpuia e kore e whati.”
Alone we can be broken. Standing together we are invincible.
The diamond form brings clarity, strength, and precision to the design. A symbol of resilience and collective power.
