Whero Waharua Kōpito Bodice Piupiu Dress
The Whero Waharua Kōpito Bodice Piupiu Dress brings together powerful symbolism and contemporary design, pairing the strength of the Waharua Kōpito bodice with the storytelling of the Piupiu print.
The Waharua Kōpito print is inspired by self-determination. The two mouths, when placed in formation with the niho(teeth), represent the relationships we hold with others and with ourselves. The line work and notches symbolise tāngata— the people — empowered through unity. This kaupapa is grounded in the words of Kīngi Tāwhiao:
“Ki te kotahi te kākaho ka whati, ki te kāpuia e kore e whati.”
Alone we can be broken. Standing together we are invincible.
Crafted from printed polyester chiffon, this dress is light, layered, and designed to move beautifully. A slip is required underneath (not included), and the piece also styles effortlessly with leggings. Long chiffon side ties allow you to adjust the fit — wear it more fitted for shape or loose and flowing for a soft, layered silhouette.
Please note: Slip dress is not included.
