The Piupiu Print Dress with Splits and Ties features our Piupiu print, a design that honours the strong history of tourism in Rotorua and the pioneering spirit of Te Arawa. Introduced just over 100 years ago, the piupiu has become a symbol of cultural performance and storytelling. Through this print, Adrienne Whitewood acknowledges Te Arawa as forward-thinking innovators who have led the way in Māori business and tourism in Aotearoa. It carries the message “Kia mau ki tō ahurea Māori” — Hold on to your Māori culture, and stands as a hopeful tribute to the continued flourishing of Rotorua’s tourism community.
Designed to flatter and move with the body, this garment features a sheer black top panel layered over the Piupiu print, with side splits that add flow and ease of movement. A slip is required underneath (not included), and the dress also styles beautifully paired with leggings. Long chiffon side ties allow you to customise the fit — wear it more fitted for shape or loose and flowing for a layered silhouette.
