Taimana means diamond, and this design is a refined expression of the Waharua Kōpito pattern. When placed in formation with the niho (teeth), the two mouths represent connection and shared resilience. The line work and notches symbolise tāngata, the people, empowered together.
Guiding this design is the enduring kōrero of Kīngi Tāwhiao:
