From the 19th Century Tartan began replacing cloaks with wool itself revolutionizing the variety of fibre available to Māori, it invokes so many different themes in our culture and my artistic impression is to simply look at what it means to the wearer. Detailed with our Taniko Waru embroidery to make the piece that extra bit special.
Taniko Waru print meaning:
Taniko is the traditional Māori art of intricate twining, we are inspired by the taniko borders of woven korowai (cloaks) and create our own contemporary interpretation of this beautiful art form.
Fabric - 100% Cotton
Sizes - S/M (size 8-12), L/XL (size 12-16), 2XL/3XL (size 16-18)
Care - Gentle cool hand wash in cool water with like colours, dry flat.
Model - Height 170cm and is wearing the S/M size
